The “La coexistence des frontières” series is a psychological exploration of how boundaries are formed and dissolved.

Using the simple form of a cylinder, the work experiments with the ways in which boundaries shift and coexist between light and shadow.

The three-dimensional objects and the two-dimensional shadows they cast coexist within a single scene, revealing the points where physical and psychological boundaries intersect and blur.

This series visualizes the invisible boundaries, perceptual gaps, and dualities of existence through the interplay of light, shadow, transparency, and overlap.

Originating from drawing-based ideas, the works employ a sense of design structure to conduct spatial experiments, exploring boundaries as dynamic and transformative rather than fixed entities.

Particular attention is given to the moment when light passes through or lingers on a material’s surface.

Light here functions not merely as illumination but as a mediator that both reveals and erases boundaries.

By combining paper and PVC film—two materials of contrasting opacity and transparency—the work explores the conditions under which boundaries exist.

Paper blocks light and defines form with precision, while PVC film absorbs and transmits light, layering colors and shadows.

Together, these materials define space in different ways, dissolving the clear distinction between two and three dimensions.

“La coexistence des frontières” is not an attempt to dismantle boundaries, but rather to reveal the tension and possibility of coexistence that arise from their presence.

Through these scenes, I seek to show that a boundary is not a fixed line but a fluid phenomenon, constantly reconfigured through perception and sensation.
